There are barely any redeeming qualities for watching this movie, and the only reason it's on this list is because it ''builds'' on the television show of the first movie. The Condemned 2 (2015) is the sequel to, well, Condemned 1. It's pretty much a low budget action flick with a B or C star cast.

Quite entertaining movie with decent reviews (6.0 rating on IMDB, 23 Metascore) and definitely worth a watch. The main character (played by Steve Austin) is going in a battle royale with 9 other killers from all over the world. He is then bought by a wealthy television guy who hosts this worldwide Hunger Games like show. The Condemned (2007) features a man waiting for the death penalty in a corrupt Central American Prison.
Probably the best movie of this list, and together with the next the closest to the Hunger Games you'll get. Mostly 'unknown' actors, depending who you ask, but you might have heard of Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones) and Robert Carlisle.

They are dropped into a random British town full of CCTV and the event is hosted by the classic evil guy/company that hosts betting and the stuff. The Tournament (2009) is a low budget (but really good and full of good action) movie about the 30 best assassins in the world, and they have 24 hours to kill the rest. It's a little different than you're probably used to. This might make it unwatchable for some people, but I really enjoyed this one. Con's: The movie is Japanese, but has English subs. Pro's: Lot's of violent action, drama and gore. The Hunger Games is usually called out for blatantly copying Battle Royale, but judge for yourself. It features random weapon assignment, exploding bomb collars for disobedient students and the gameshow/evil government. In this case, 42 students are dropped on a deserted island. A Japanese school class is abducted by the evil distopian Japanese goverment and forced to participate in the yearly Battle Royale Experiment, where a class has to fight each other to the death.
